C’mon in and meet the gang…
The IndyGo Network [and the other projects that we’ve got coming along] are created by mogWerks, the umbrella company that we put together for our web projects. Other projects, already visible and available, are Green, a french-language music blog that will soon be celebrating its third anniversary, and mogWerks.net, home to our open source projects [which currently is mainly mog*cms, a multi-lingual cms that we have been using to put together our web sites].
Who are we?

Jonathan. Music Taster, Typophile, and Serial-Blogger.

jonathan

  • Background: after a Series of Unfortunate Events [mostly chronicled in his best-selling book, A Year & A Blog], Jonathan started his wildly successful musicBlog Green in August of 2004. Since then, he has been musing about giving something back to the community, and thus the IndyGo project was born.
  • Things he does at IndyGo: PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL.
  • Current listens: Fredo Viola, Maria Taylor, The Postal Service, Rilo Kiley, Tegan and Sara, The National

Alain. Philosopher and Hypnotist.

alain

  • Background: a secretive figure, Alain rarely leaves his hidden military base [and harem] in the mountains behind Casablanca, communicating with the outside world through messages left in old Kleenex boxes, and writings in the sand that his faithful followers read using Google Earth.
  • Things he does at IndyGo: writing, rewriting, translation, the occasional JavaScript jiggerypockery, and [constructive] comments. He is also doing an amazing amount of data entry on one of our upcoming projects.
  • Musical tastes: too numerous and eclectic to list here, but as independant music goes, he appreciates particularly The Patriotic Sunday, his latest discovery, Nessim B., his brand new pal, and his former neighbours and still friends Ruth & Jean-Louis.
Credits & Thanks
  • Thanks to Étienne for posing for the photos on the musicians page. Thanks also to Ludivine for taking the pictures. Various bodyparts belonging to Kim, Dana and Jonathan also appear in these photos.
  • Photos under various CC licences found on flickr were used (unfortunately we lost the credits… we’ll try and hunt them out):
If we got licences mixed up and shouldn’t be using these images, please let us know, and we’ll remove the offending pix immediately.
  • The typeface used for the [current and temporary] logo is [the strangely named] Trendy University by Ben Balvanz of Fontalicious. It appears that this font is available through FontBros.com but currently I can’t find it anywhere on their site…
  • The famous Silkscreen font by Jason Kottke is used with discretion here and there.
  • Other graphic elements were built, manipulated or otherwise assembled in a variety of software including Adobe Photoshop, Seashore, and ImageWell. However, I really regret the simplicity of Fireworks2 from Macromedia
  • The site is built using our own open-source, multi-lingual CMS solution — mog*cms.
  • The following text editors were used: xPad for developing notes, Pierre Chatel’s amazing sidenote for keeping notes, urls, ideas, todo lists and goodness knows what else. Apple’s TextEdit and Pages for the PDF files. But the powerhouse text editor of choice is BareBones Software’s free TextWrangler2.
  • All of this work took place on Jonathan’s trusty iBook G4.
